NOVI LIGURE. “We are not policemen or controllers, we are people who have to work after long periods of inactivity and lost income, so the checks on the greenpass are certainly not up to the carouselers”. Alessio Visca, one of the veteran amusement park rides in Novi Ligure, vice president of the national association shows, exercises and traveling shows Agis-Confindustria, represents the opinion of all his colleagues on the 25 attractions present in Piazza Pernigotti.
«We are facing a confused, Italian-style law – he continues – where interpretations are never clear. The decree argues that checks should be “random”, but the authorities should do them. The Luna Park can be configured as an open space. It is not a cinema or a theater. It is therefore not clear why those who pass under the arcades should not be controlled and those who come to the Luna Park, where there are several accesses, should be. Then a positive consideration «The important thing in this moment – he says – the important thing for us is to be here to work, because it was not entirely taken for granted. And we will do it in absolute safety, for us and for the visitors respecting the distances, the anti-covid measures ».
«For us, the Novi fair is one of the main ones in Italy – adds Giuseppe Paolella, Snav-CGIL carousel and trade unionist -. We have always been well received by all administrations as far as I am concerned for at least fifty years. This is why we joined the “Children’s Day” which marked the opening of the amusement park which will remain until November 28th ». But the problem always remains the Green-Pass and the control: «We have limited ourselves as required by the law – says Paolella -, to put up multilingual billboards and we will enforce the distances and the use of the mask. Certainly it is not up to us to request the certificate, we are an outdoor activity ».
Donal Bravi is another historic carousel who chooses Novi every year: «Our families just want to work. Unfortunately we were damaged first by the flood then by the pandemic ». For Bruno Miletto, however: «The beginning is promising, people want to go out and have fun. It will be enough to use common sense, not even the Green Pass has curbed the desire to participate ».
