Parks in Beijing experiencing spikes in tourists over the Spring Festival holiday
The Spring Festival holiday of the Year of the Dragon has brought a surge of tourists to the parks in Beijing. Citizens are stepping out of their homes to visit temple fairs, enjoy folk customs, watch lanterns, and immerse in the festive atmosphere of the New Year.
According to the Municipal Landscaping and Greening Bureau, on the first day of the Spring Festival holiday, the city’s parks received a total of 711,000 tourists, marking a 56.6% increase compared to the same period last year.
Parks in Beijing have been offering more than 100 ecological and cultural activities, attracting citizens and tourists to visit and participate in Spring Festival garden visits and blessing activities.
Beijing Zoo has been decorated with a festive atmosphere, with animal venues being newly decorated. The layout inside and outside the animal venues has been renewed, with holiday-limited meals prepared for the animals. Additionally, traditional cultural activities have been held, attracting many tourists to participate.
Zizhuyuan is carrying out Spring Festival blessing and civilized garden tour activities, where visitors can participate in New Year garden tour activities to start the New Year’s good luck. The park also features cartoon dolls for children to interact with and take photos with, as well as traditional cultural activities.
Yuyuantan Park is also full of festive activities, with themed activities such as watching winter birds, visiting the garden, and receiving blessings, as well as showcasing early cherry blossoms and New Year flowers.
As the park activities continue to attract crowds, the Municipal Landscaping and Greening Bureau reminds citizens and tourists to pay attention to the tourist information of each park scenic spot before traveling and to promote off-peak hours and green travel. Additionally, visitors are urged to follow the instructions of the park order guides and visit the park in a civilized manner, keeping in mind forest fire prevention during the winter season.
Overall, the festive atmosphere and numerous activities in the parks have led to a significant increase in tourists visiting the parks during the Spring Festival holiday.
