2024 Year of the Dragon Spring Festival Cultural Activities Unveiled in Beijing

Beijing held a press conference on January 29 to reveal the cultural activities planned for the 2024 Year of the Dragon Spring Festival. Pu Xuedong, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Commerce, outlined the various initiatives that have been organized to meet the consumer needs of citizens and domestic and foreign tourists.

The main focus of the activities is the “Beijing Color New Year,” which aims to create a happy and warm festival atmosphere across the city. More than 80 business districts have been adorned with lights and colorful decorations to present a festive atmosphere and vitality to the business districts.

Several key attractions are part of the cultural festivities, including the New Year Art Light Exhibition at INDIGO, the “Dragon and Spirit” exhibition at Xizhimen CapitaMALL, and the “Chongwen Xishi National Trendy New Year Goods Festival” in the Chongwenmen Business District. Additionally, time-honored brands and merchants have launched new products for the New Year, catering to traditional and modern tastes.

The Beijing Municipal Commerce Bureau has also ensured service guarantees during the Spring Festival, including non-stop delivery from takeout services, normal operations of key supermarket stores, and market supply of housekeeping services. The Beijing Culinary Association and the Beijing Catering Industry Association have also organized activities to ensure dining demands are met for the New Year’s Eve dinner.

This comprehensive plan aims to make the 2024 Year of the Dragon Spring Festival a memorable and enjoyable experience for citizens and visitors alike. The cultural activities will not only showcase traditional values but also incorporate modern elements to create a vibrant and inclusive celebration.
