“Support Cyclists On The Road” stops off on 4 and 5 September in Casale sul Sile
CASALE. In the year of the bicycle boom, the van that has been touring Europe since 2018, offering cyclists mechanical assistance and a coffee, returns to Italian squares and cycle paths. It’s time for “Support Cyclists On The Road”.
The appointment will be in Casale sul Sile, along the cycle path, on Saturday and Sunday 4 and 5 September.
After Milan, Innsbruck, Munich, Berlin, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Düsseldorf, Salzburg, Cologne, Konstanz, Stuttgart, Turin and many other cities, more than 2000 bikes repaired, over 5000 coffees offered and more than 7000 cyclists met, it is therefore time to leave.
The numbers of the small and colorful van that, before the pandemic, crossed Italy, Austria, Germany and Holland on several occasions – the heart of the “Support Cyclists On The Road” project, conceived and built by the Italian company Selle Royal, precisely to support urban mobility on two wheels and cycle tourism – are emblematic of a movement, that on two wheels, which is experiencing a boom like never before.
The Van arrives where cities and territories are embracing a philosophy close to cyclists and a green tourism project, to meet enthusiasts, offering them free mechanical assistance and an Italian coffee.
In Casale sul Sile the van will therefore be hosted by Venice Bike Trail and, for the occasion, by reservation (www.venicebiketrail.org), it will be possible try kayaking on the clear waters of the Sile for free.
The Van is built on the one hand like a real profirst small mobile workshop, on the other like an Italian coffee shop, with a professional coffee machine and a Bristot blend of coffees from South and Central America that satisfies even the most demanding palates.
In each location the Van will become for one or two days the reference point for cyclists, be they sportsmen, families or simply people who live part of their daily life by bicycle: the opportunity for a check up, the pleasure of a coffee and the opportunity to have a chat are the common thread along which the Van team meets cyclists of all kinds, ready to give advice or simply to tighten a screw , where necessary.
The goal is also to spread the culture of two wheels and “support”, not only with saddles, in fact, those who choose the bicycle as part of their lifestyle.
It is a simple but concrete way of contributing to an idea of mobility which, in recent years, is becoming more and more valuable for imagining more modern and liveable cities.
