This is feared by Giampaolo Sbarra, national vice president of the Association of managers-teachers, formerly vice president of art, who appeals to young people: “Let’s not ruin everything”, but at the same time remembers that “not all kids are those of raves party, there are many conscientious young people ».
Are you afraid that behaviors such as those reported by the carabinieri on the Piave could frustrate the restart, causing the contagion to run?
“It’s a fact. It will certainly be necessary to appeal to a form of conscience and self-regulation: children should know that society has taken serious risks, has paid a huge price to Covid, every personal contribution helps to overcome the difficult phase “.
Do you think the boys have this awareness?
“Most of them certainly do. I am about to say something that apparently has nothing to do with it, but I have been collecting signatures for euthanasia for two months and the boys have come in large numbers, many have signed, voluntarily, showing a civil conscience. The boys are of many different backgrounds ».
What, in your opinion, do certain excesses depend on?
«It could be a phenomenon of emulation, there have been rave parties elsewhere this summer, there will be the desire to vent the closures of long periods. But the boys should not be criminalized ».
Are they more difficult to manage after the long months of lockdowns and restrictions?
“Maybe, in fact it is quite probable. But I point out that the boys are getting vaccinated in good numbers, and then: how many boys have you seen at the No vax meetings? This is to signal that there are many young people with a great sense of responsibility ».
How to handle the most complicated cases?
“Words are not enough, you have to be there with them. Space should be left for associations that work with street children. When I was teaching, there were some and they worked face to face. Social activities of this type must be promoted. Institutions would be little listened to, while someone who lives those experiences and is part of it would be more effective. The appeal of the mayor, the bishop or the professor is probably useless. It is necessary to be there in the middle, with them ».
