There is a social conflict going on at the airline about higher wages. The pilots argue that they lost wages during the corona crisis and that they want to recoup their wages now that the airline is doing better. Brussels Airlines has made a proposal, but it is not enough for the pilots.

Actions will be possible from March 23, ACV Puls secretary Jolinde Defieuw confirms. “A strike notice has been filed.” According to Didier Lebbe of the French-speaking Christian employee union CNE, passengers will be informed at least a week in advance.

The pilots at Brussels Airlines already stopped work in mid-January.

Cabin crew

There is social unrest not only among the pilots, but also among the airline’s cabin crew. They have also already taken action for higher wages and less work pressure, and “there is a real chance that the cabin crew will take action again in the near future,” said ACV secretary Defieuw. According to CNE trade unionist Lebbe, this could also involve four-day strikes, together with the pilots or alternately.
