The seatbelt might have prevented something worse. A 58-year-old truck driver probably didn’t have it on, according to the Neustadt/Aisch police. On Friday afternoon on the district road from Ochsenschenkel towards Gleißenberg he skidded in a left-hand bend due to slippery snow. The trailer loaded with 10 tons of tea then slides from the roadbed into the ditch and overturns. The truck driver was flown to a clinic with serious injuries. The material damage is around 30,000 euros.
