CALUSO – The expenditure for school building in the city of wine is worth a total of 4 million euros, including redevelopment and a new construction. While the start of the works is still awaited, after the phases of definitive design, seismic adaptation, improvement of energy efficiency, upgrading of the systems and renovation of the primary schools Giuseppe Giacosa in Caluso and Giovanni Cena in the Arè hamlet, the technical office of the Municipality continues to monitor the floors and false ceilings of the other school buildings to avoid the risk of a breakdown.
Now it is the turn of the Bretti Tronzano kindergarten, a building dating back to the 70s, no longer subject to checks since 2014. But the checks will also be carried out in the first body of the Guido Gozzano first grade secondary school, completed building in 2009 The second body, which completed the plexus and allowed the transfer of 350 students, was inaugurated in 2013.
In the kindergarten there will be a specialized survey to monitor the state of conservation of the floors. At Gozzano the investigation will take place for the false ceiling. The intervention consists of visual inspections with photographic surveys or aimed at representing the intrados state of the floors; in the analysis of the crack pattern, where present; in the thermographic survey and, if necessary, also instrumental. To finish with manual typing. For areas equipped with false ceilings, we will intervene with sample disassembly of the panels, load tests, verification of the anchoring hangers and verification of the intrados of the inspected area to end with a final report. The work was entrusted to the Omega company in Savona at a cost of 4800 euros. From the monitoring and from the previous technical investigations, the most critical situation was that of the Giuseppe Giacosa primary school for which it was necessary to make the floors safe. Then followed a feasibility study, drawn up by the technical office, which also concerned the complex of the Arè hamlet, and the final design in 2020 with an expense of 70 thousand euros deriving from a state contribution for the Caluso complex and a a figure slightly lower than that of the populous fraction. For the works, which entered the ranking in the last regional call for school building, a total of 3 million euros is needed. «The contract for the assignment of the works – mayor Maria Rosa – Cena – is scheduled for this year.
