The Attorney General’s Office confirmed the capture of the child’s stepfather Jerónimo Angulo as the alleged perpetrator of the crime.
After an intense search led by relief agencies and the police, The body of little Jerónimo Angulo was discovered on Wednesday, March 6a day after his mother reported him missing.
The discovery occurred in Fusagasugá, Cundinamarca, near the El Jordán ravine., in an area known as La Aguadita. The child’s body, wrapped in a garbage bag and showing signs of alleged abuse, He was found by members of the fire department and the Red Cross.

Captain Álvaro Farfán, departmental delegate of the Cundinamarca Fire Department, confirmed the tragic discovery, indicating that the minor seemed to have lost his life due to multiple blows.
The news was followed by the capture of Giovanny Andrés Díaz, stepfather of Jerónimo Angulo and main suspect in the boy’s murder.. The CTI of the Prosecutor’s Office, in coordination with the Military Gaula and the National Police, carried out the arrest.
The Prosecutor’s Office reported: «This person will be presented before a judge of guarantees and must respond as presumed responsible for the crime of aggravated homicide.«.
