Casa Saicaf, the historic café in Corso Cavour, in Bari, will open to the public on August 1, which returns with a new collaboration between the coffee company and the pastry chef Salvatore Petriella. The date was unveiled today, on the occasion of the inaugural tasting evening which was attended, among others, by the patron of the Massimo Zanetti beverage group Massimo Zanetti, the president of the Puglia Region Michele Emiliano, the mayor of Bari Antonio Decaro, the president and director of Saicaf Antonio Lorusso and the pastry chef and creator of Casa Saicaf Salvatore Petriella.
Just where for many years the citizens have learned to appreciate the historic Gran Caffè Saicaf, the completely renovated place is back. The space is divided into two areas: on the street level there is Casa Caffè, where you can enjoy freshly ground coffee and pastries; upstairs is La Madia, where you can have lunch and dinner from 12 to 23 non-stop with a menu designed for everyone. “This place is the history of coffee in Bari, it is the living room of the city with so much influx – said Lorusso -. Bari is changing and we are following the evolution of time with courage and will: the latest company operation was the entry of Massimo Zanetti, my friend for years, as a partner of the company, a world-class partner who has added authority and experience to our many years of Apulian history”. “The return of the Saicaf brand in the economic context of our city is news that we welcome with great satisfaction – added Decaro -. not only because the opening of a new business is always a positive event for the growth of the local fabric but also because , after a few years, a place that for decades has been a point of reference for the people of Bari and for the many who came to visit us also from neighboring municipalities returns to life”.
