The Government of Casanare, through decree 0124 of 2024, declared a civic day on the occasion of the commemoration of the fiftieth anniversary of administrative life of the department of Casanare.
May 15, 2024 will be a civic day without work activities at the Departmental Administrative Center. This date will be an opportunity for Casanareños to participate in commemorative activities and celebrate the five decades of achievements of the department.
During the day, regular administrative activities in the Government offices will be suspended, except for contractual processes that will continue their normal course to guarantee compliance with due process.
The entities in charge of the provision of essential public services, including the Police, public health, emergency and security services, will continue to operate without interruptions.
On the other hand, the departmental entity calls on all public servants, the Casanareña community, educational institutions, universities, authorities, the business sector and civic associations to join the activities scheduled for this commemoration.
The scheduled activities will take place in the city of Yopal and include:
• Eucharist: A solemn ceremony to give thanks and blessings for the growth and unity of our department.
• Protocolary Acts: Recognitions and speeches by local authorities and prominent figures.
• Institutional Parade and Comparsas: A display of the cultural wealth of Casanare with the participation of institutions and folk groups.
• Joropera: A dance show that celebrates our joropo tradition with 400 couples dancing in unison.
• Horseback riding: A cultural tradition of our department, land of men and women on horseback, that cannot be missed.
• Artistic and Cultural Exhibitions: Exhibitions that highlight the talent and creativity of Casanareño artists.
• 50 Years Serenade: A special moment to honor half a century of history, achievements and dreams fulfilled.
