A cardiologist on duty in the hospital of Soverato, in the Catanzaro area, was arrested by the carabinieri on charges of raping, from 2017 to today, at least 63 women, including a minor, with whom he had passed off as a gynecologist despite never having achieved this specific specialization. The sexual violence allegedly took place in the doctor’s office in Soverato. The false gynecologist, according to a note from the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Catanzaro, directly committed sexual violence or induced the victims to perform sexual acts.
The arrest of the false gynecologist was made by the carabinieri in execution of an order of custody in prison issued by the investigating judge of Catanzaro at the request of the Public Prosecutor’s Office. The cardiologist doctor is accused of crimes of sexual violence, child pornography, illicit interference in private life and fraud. The military confiscated some cell phones and computers from the cardiologist.
