Chinese Communist Party Deploys J-20 Fighter Jets to Increase Pressure on Taiwan

The tension between China and Taiwan continues to escalate as the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has deployed its J-20 stealth fighter jets to the Foshan Air Force Base in Guangdong. The move has triggered concerns and calls for military cooperation between Taiwan and the United States to counter the CCP’s aggressive actions.

Lieutenant General Zhang Yanting, a former deputy commander of the Taiwan Air Force, emphasized the need for Taiwan to lease two squadrons of F-35 Joint Strike Fighters from the United States to test and verify tactics for combatting the J-20. He further highlighted the urgency for Taiwan to acquire more advanced radar technology, such as meter wave radar or quantum radar, to effectively detect and counter the stealth capabilities of the J-20.

Peng Jieshen, a former Marine Corps bandit instructor, also emphasized the need for Taiwan to obtain more accurate and longer-range detection technology and radar to counter the J-20 threat. He also noted that the J-20’s stealth capabilities may not be as effective as initially perceived, citing reports from the Indian Air Force and U.S. Air Force officials.

The CCP’s continued military intimidation and tampering with the M503 route have raised concerns about potential military actions aimed at occupying Taiwan’s airports. Experts have proposed countermeasures, including reducing the number of airports open to the mainland and adjusting flight intervals, to prevent potential assault troop reinforcements.

As the tension between China and Taiwan persists, the international community closely watches the developments in the region, urging diplomatic and peaceful resolutions to avoid any military conflict.

The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China has been actively monitoring the CCP’s military activities and continues to announce updates on the status of military aircraft and warships around the Taiwan Strait. The ongoing presence of Chinese military aircraft and warships near the Taiwan Strait reflects the critical need for a coordinated and strategic response to deter potential confrontations.

As the Lunar New Year approaches, both Taiwan and the CCP continue to navigate the complexities of their strained relationship, with the ongoing presence of CCP military forces posing challenges and threats to peace and stability in the region.
