LIGNANO. More security guards at night to guard the beach and, therefore, avoid gatherings and prohibited “alcoholic gatherings”. But also to illuminate the most critical points of the beach at night, such as the gazebo area near Terrazza a Mare, in Sabbiadoro, a favorite place for hordes of kids to spend their weekend nights based on alcohol and no rules.
This is, in essence, what emerged from the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Security called by the Prefecture of Udine which was held in the town hall of Lignano.
Safe beaches even at night, therefore. This was, in fact, the theme of the meeting, chaired by the deputy vicar Enrico Roccatagliata, which was also attended by the mayor Luca Fanotto, the representatives of the police, the Port Authority, the local police and the economic categories of the locality .
On 19 July the State Police Commissariat will open, it was announced, but in the meantime for the next weekend, which will coincide with the final of the European Football Championships, the police forces located in the area will be strengthened ».
It was highlighted that thanks to the synergy between public and private resources and by putting, with responsibility, the knowledge and initiatives that can be started together – said the Prefecture -, the conditions are set for a vigorous recovery of economic activities. linked to seaside tourism while safeguarding, at the same time, the needs linked to the particular epidemiological context, needs that must lead to the utmost attention and to respect the rules of behavior dictated to minimize the risks of a resurgence of infections from Covid-19 “.
Last month, in fact, the mayor Fanotto signed an anti-gathering ordinance with which, among the various measures, it is forbidden to consume and hold (from 22 to 6) alcohol outside the premises, and therefore in the street and at the beach. Avoiding the measure, however, hundreds of young people also last weekend, gathered inside the gazebos facing the sea, in Sabbiadoro.
«The solution is not to militarize the city – remarked Fanotto -, collaboration between public and private is necessary. The task of guarding the beach is primarily up to the concessionaires, who must equip themselves with security guards and not simple guardians, who then, in case of need, must notify the police. Then, I suggest turning on the headlights positioned on the beach to illuminate the most critical areas. I thank – he added – how many interventions there are, including the Prefecture of Udine who wanted to bring together the Committee: this testifies to the attention for the territory. Teamwork is always needed ».
The possibility was also mentioned for the owners of public establishments and for beach concessionaires to draw on regional contributions planned to finance subsidiary security projects, useful for implementing the safety device already provided and ensured by the police and state forces. and local.
