With a financial endowment of 7 million euros, the Calabria Region launches a public notice to support the acquisition of advanced services. The notice falls within the scope of the Action: 1.3.1 “Competitiveness of the regional production system” and is supported by the PR Calabria Fesr ESF+ Fund 2021-2027 (DOWNLOAD THE TEXT OF THE NOTICE HERE).

Objective is accompany the regional production system in the introduction of product and process innovations, as well as in the organisational, management and commercial structures, in the implementation of “circular” production models and in the digitalisation processes of business management.

A measure for single or aggregate SMEs

Beneficiaries of the tender are single or aggregate SMEs (in ATI, ATS, business networks or consortia), regardless of the economic sector, with the only exclusions set by the rules on aid (fishing and aquaculture, primary production of agricultural products) and other excluded sectors (gambling houses, weapons production, etc.).

The types of intervention that can be financed

The financeable interventions include, on the one hand, theacquisition of consultancy services aimed at the creation/improvement of new products, processes or services and the productive reconversion of economic activities within the circular economy and, on the other, the acquisition of consultancy services aimed at the application of one or more enabling technologies in the production processes of companies. Services can also be financed consultancy for the adoption of new organizational models to significantly improve and innovate the management, financial and commercial processes of companies.

In detail, in the first area including the design of systems for monitoring consumption and waste of production materials; product innovation studies that allow limiting the use of resources in the production cycle and their reuse (e.g. reuse of water in production cycles, reuse of production waste); studies for the creation of prototypes for the management of the integrated water cycle and the recycling of raw production materials; analysis and specialist support for the introduction of new technologies aimed at increasing product lifespan (expiration); new packaging that allows the recovery of materials (e.g. packaging); the study of systems to increase the recovery and recycling rates of small and light materials (e.g. aluminum cans, PET bottles), to be allocated to industry, before they end up in ordinary waste collection processes.

In the second area instead, the design of systems for the use of the cloud computing in business processes; consultancy for the introduction of corporate IT security solutions (cybersecurity); rapid prototyping services for the development of new products to be tested on the market; services for the implementation of visualization systems (e.g. augmented reality) integrated with the production cycle; services for the introduction of advanced robotic technology to the production process; product customization services through 3D prototype printing; studies for the implementation of interconnection systems between production machines, through sensors (internet of things)

Expenses for advanced consultancy services for the implementation of interventions provided by qualified suppliers are eligible, as are the costs for obtaining certifications and/or certificates of conformity.

The minimum investment thresholds

Projects with a minimum investment of 15,000 euros and a maximum of 200,000 euros can be financed (aid art. 18 Reg. 651/14). These thresholds remain valid also in the case of applications submitted by business combinations.

Evaluation of applications and submission deadlines

Applications are evaluated in chronological order of presentation, using automatic objective criteria, consistent with approved PR 21/27 selection criteria (Access with Min 60 points out of 100). Applications and related attachments can be inserted on the platform starting from 10 am on 15/01/2024 and until 4 pm on 14/02/2024. The definitive sending of the previously prepared applications is scheduled for 15/02/2024 from 10 am to 4 pm.
