Colombia closes today its participation against Paraguay

The Colombian U-20 women’s team is in the final stretch of the South American category, with a decisive day that will define its position in the final hexagonal and its preparation for future international challenges. On the last date of the South American, Colombia will face Paraguay in search of securing second position in the tournament, an achievement that would consolidate its excellent performance in this competition. The match will take place at the Alberto Spencer stadium at 4:00 pm

The South American women’s under-20 has been a platform for outstanding individual performances, such as those of Gabriela Rodríguez, Maithé López, Ana Milena González, Juana Ortegón, Stefanía Perlaza, Luisa Agudelo, among other players who have shone on the playing field. In addition, the Colombian team has the objective of equaling its best performance in a South American of this category, when it obtained runner-up status in 2010.

It should be remembered that Colombia, as host of the World Cup, was not fighting for qualification in the South American, but rather used it as preparation and to look at the level of its payroll, which will be the same plan for the next tournament of coach Carlos Paniagua’s team.

Once the South American competition is over, the U20 women’s Tricolor will prepare to face a new challenge in the Sud Ladies Cup in France. This friendly tournament will feature the participation of six teams, including world powers such as France and Japan. Colombia will debut in the Sud Ladies Cup on May 27 against Mexico and then face Japan on May 29, both matches crucial to determining their position in group A and their path in the knockout phase of the tournament.
