Starting next April 4, the city of Sucre, Bolivia, will become the epicenter of the sports event that will bring together young athletes from seven countries: Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Peru and Venezuela.
This event, which marks a multi-sports celebration, promises to be historic in the promotion of new sporting talents in the region.
With an investment of 2,579 million pesos by the Ministry of Sports, Colombia will be present on Bolivian soil with a delegation of athletes who will represent the country as ambassadors of peace in the world. This commitment reaffirms the support of the Government of Change to the development, encouragement and promotion of new sporting generations.
The Colombian delegation will be made up of a total of 164 athletes, 80 women and 84 men, accompanied by 34 coaches, who will compete in 17 different disciplines. These young talents, aged between 14 and 20, will seek to raise the name of Colombia and position the country as a sports power in the region.

The sports that will be part of these events include athletics, badminton, handball, basketball, baseball, boxing, cycling, fencing, futsal, artistic gymnastics, judo, karate-do, weightlifting, wrestling, swimming, Basque pelota, racquetball, squash , taekwondo, tennis, table tennis, archery, triathlon and volleyball.
David Acosta, e-director of Sports Positioning and Leadership at Mindeporte, highlighted the importance of the Bolivarian Youth Games as a competition platform for young people in the Olympic sector. «We are very pleased with the participation of our athletes in the Bolivarian Games. “The joint efforts between the Ministry of Sports, the Colombian Olympic Committee and the sports federations will lead us to obtain good results and increase the country’s talent base, with a view to the Olympic Games in Los Angeles 2028 and Brisbane 2032.”
