COMICON 24 – A “Doctor Who” panel

by admin

Disney+ has announced that the highly anticipated new season of “Doctor Who” will be the protagonist of an exclusive panel at the Naples ComiCon 2024: an unedited clip of the new season will be shown on Thursday 25 April at 2.00pm in the Sala Italia. The panel will also feature the content creators FraGullo, Giorgina Dee and the ArteSettima collective as guests and will be moderated by Eva Carducci: together they will have the opportunity to talk to the public about this new adventure featuring the Fifteenth Doctor, played by Ncuti Gatwa, and Ruby Sunday, played by Millie Gibson. The new season of “Doctor Who”, which for the first time ever will be launched on Disney+ and distributed simultaneously throughout the world, will be available in Italy starting at 1 am on Saturday 11 May. Viewers will start again from the events of “The Church on Ruby Road”, the special that premiered last December, continuing the adventure through two completely new episodes, “Space Babies” and “The Devil”s Chord. In the UK, “Doctor Who” will debut streaming at midnight on May 11 on BBC iPlayer, before airing on BBC One the same day, giving audiences a simultaneous global launch. Every Saturday, then, a new episode will be released on Disney+ in Italy and on BBC and BBC iPlayer in the United Kingdom. The Doctor and his companion Ruby Sunday travel through time and space, experiencing adventures ranging from Regency-era England to war-torn future worlds. During their travels in the TARDIS – a time-traveling spaceship shaped like a blue police telephone box – they encounter incredible friends and dangerous enemies, including a terrifying “bogeyman” and the Doctor’s most powerful enemy. The guest star cast includes Anita Dobson, Callie Cooke, Yasmin Finney, Michelle Greenidge, Jonathan Groff, Bonnie Langford, Jinkx Monsoon, Jemma Redgrave, Lenny Rush, Indira Varma and Angela Wynter. “Doctor Who” is produced by Bad Wolf, with BBC Studios for Disney Branded Television and BBC. Russell T Davies serves as showrunner, executive producer and writer, with additional executive producers Phil Collinson, Joel Collins, Julie Gardner and Jane Tranter. The new season features episodes directed by Ben Chessell, Jamie Donoughue, Julie Anne Robinson and Dylan Holmes Williams.
