TREVISO. A provincial observatory on addictions: Prefecture, Ulss and mayors will set it up also to counteract the phenomenon of baby gang. It is a request born in the first summit convened by the prefect Angelo Sidoti and materialized on Monday in the second meeting. “We will be part of it as a conference of the mayors of the Ulss to put together all the data, and structure the subsequent interventions,” said the mayor of Ponte di Piave Paola Roma.
Instead, the first part of the strategy to crush baby gangs and stop violence among young people on weekends has already started. The carabinieri carried out some extraordinary checks in particular in Conegliano, Oderzo, Vittorio Veneto and atex Siamic in Treviso. But one of the mayors’ requests also concerns a prevention activity together with the ULSS, precisely because a common thread between violent behavior and addictions had been noted.
«We need a punctual reconnaissance on the territory to verify the trend of the phenomenon. The most common addiction among young people is cannabis, cocaine is a significant problem, but especially for a higher age group “, said Roberto Manera, head of the Serd of Castelfranco.
