With the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, the risk of a world food crisis became real. The conflict has raised food prices yet again.
Russia and Ukraine, in fact, export most of the basic foodstuffs such as corn, wheat and sunflower oil to the world. But now the ships carrying these goods are stopped in the ports, while Ukrainian farmers cannot sow the land. And so, with the drop in supply, the UN has already sounded the alarm of a possible food “catastrophe”.
