At the Spallanzani Institute the first patient in Italy treated with the Paxlovid antiviral pill. It is a 54-year-old man with cardiovascular disease and Covid-19, who has been symptomatic for 3 days. This was announced by the Spallanzani Institute. The drug Paxlovid is composed of an antiviral, Nirmatrelvir, and a potentiating drug, Ritonavir. The treatment consists of three tablets in the morning and 3 in the evening, for 5 days.
