The authorities indicated that compared to the Vallenato Festival the previous year, there was an 85% reduction in reported crimes; Likewise, theft from motorcycles decreased by 64%, theft from people by 81%, theft from businesses by 100%, theft from cell phones by 91% and a 77% decrease in personal injuries.

Likewise, the Police attended 30% more events compared to the previous year.

“The result in security and coexistence in this edition of the Festival demonstrates the commitment of the Metropolitan Police to the community and challenges us to continue giving everything to preserve life and traditions in this region of Cesar,” said Colonel Alex Duran.

They also recalled the installation of the Unified Command Post, with the use of drones, aerial patrols and the anti-theft squad.

“The Valledupar Metropolitan anti-theft squad began to give strong results in the fight against crime. Several individuals, most of them from other cities in the country, were intercepted and captured in flagrante delicto when they were trying to commit vehicle thefts,” said Colonel Alex Duran.

Regarding the mobility and entry of people into the city, more than 24 thousand private vehicles were mobilized. 1,293 public service buses that transported 27,961 people to the capital of Cesar. More than 6 thousand passengers through 108 flights that landed at the Alfonso López Pumarejo airport.

The effectiveness of the measures is also reflected in operational results, such as the capture of 27 individuals in flagrante delicto for the commission of different crimes. The seizure of two firearms, more than 500 bottles of liquor and 1,100 packs of contraband cigarettes, 300 cans of beer not suitable for consumption, and 65 empty bottles where they intended to package low-quality liquor.

On the other hand, hotel occupancy was at 100%, with 152,362 people staying. Meanwhile, in terms of mobility, there were no deaths due to traffic events during the celebration.
