Hitman attacks have become increasingly common in the country’s capital. On this occasion, a criminal lawyer was the victim of an attempted hitman while traveling in a taxi in the north, specifically on Calle 127 and Carrera 9.
Fortunately, the incident did not result in fatalities, although the man involved had to be transferred to a medical center.
According to preliminary reports, the lawyer was traveling as a passenger in a taxi that was being chased by two men on a motorcycle, who had been under surveillance for some time.

“At 12:00 in the afternoon, on 127th and 9th Street, an attack occurred against a taxi user, subjects who They were traveling on motorcycles and they shoot against humanity of a person. Quadrant 23 attends to the case and the injured person is transferred to the Reina Sofia Clinic,” stated the Bogotá Metropolitan Police, in its statement.
It was about Ricardo Villarraga Franco, a criminal lawyer and former director of the judicial police, who in an interview with a recognized Colombian media, confirmed that he is out of danger, with only minor injuries.
Likewise, Franco stated that he does not consider the incident to have been an attempted murder: “For me it was an attempted robbery. “They wanted to take my lawyer’s briefcase.”he told the newspaper ‘El Tiempo’.
