Annapaola Venezia will be interim general secretary of the Crt Foundation. This was decided this evening by the board of directors, which began at 7pm and is still underway at 11pm.
Venezia takes the place of Andrea Varese who took note of the board’s no confidence and resigned. Already last Friday, four out of seven councilors had asked for his mandate to be revoked.
Varese, general secretary since July 2023, former Unicredt manager wanted by president Fabrizio Palenzona, was challenged by the board of directors for having reported to the Mef supervisory authority, without first informing him, the existence of a ‘hidden pact’ at within the foundation to decide and direct the appointments. However, it is not the only criticism that the councilors make of the new leadership, accused of being extraneous to the dynamics of the city: in particular, some unshared investments such as the one in the Alessandria vineyards are in their sights.
The choice of Varese’s successor has therefore been postponed for now.
