A “cold case” solved thanks to the collaboration of Ris di Parma. A 42-year-old resident of Moncalieri denounced: he had also taken 4 rifles
IVREA. Thanks to the collaboration with the Ris di Parma, the Carabinieri of the Compagnia di Ivrea solved a “cold case” in 2004 and denounced a Romanian citizen, residing in Moncalieri, affected, responsible for a home theft consumed in Cuorgnè.
The theft was carried out in August 2004 inside a small villa in the municipality of Cuorgnè where unknown persons, after breaking into a window, after having sneaked inside the house, had managed to take four rifles (legally detained from the victim), televisions, cameras, objects in gold and silver, musical instruments, all for a value of approximately 30,000 euros.
The investigations by the Carabinieri of the Cuorgnè Station immediately began. The surveys inside the house allowed the soldiers to collect and seize two cigarette butts, proceeding, thanks to the investigations carried out by the Ris of Parma, to extract the relative genetic profile , without however being able to associate it with a name and a face.
At least until today. And in fact, following in-depth biological investigations, also required following further and recent investigative developments, acquired during the continuous investigations, never interrupted over the years, since 2004, it was finally possible to give an identity to the author of the theft, having emerged full agreement between the DNA genotype extracted from a salivary sample of the suspect with the genetic one resulting from the cigarette butt found many years earlier: the author, a 42-year-old, of Romanian origin, was then denounced by the Carabinieri of the Cuorgnè station to the Ivrea judicial authority.
