National Two Sessions Held in Beijing: General Secretary Xi Jinping Engages in Discussions on State Affairs
From March 4 to 11, 2024, the National Two Sessions took place in Beijing with nearly 3,000 deputies to the National People’s Congress and over 2,000 members of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference in attendance.
During this year’s sessions, General Secretary Xi Jinping had a busy and full schedule, engaging in heart-to-heart exchanges with representatives and members to discuss state affairs. The discussions focused on people’s livelihood issues and the conversations were filled with sincere words that resonated with the attendees.
This year holds special significance as it marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the National People’s Congress and the 75th anniversary of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. It is also a crucial year for achieving the goals and tasks set out in the 14th Five-Year Plan.
The theme of the sessions revolved around anchoring the construction of a strong country and focusing on the great cause of rejuvenation, with a call to jointly write a new chapter in China’s modernization drive. The event was produced by Shen Yong, planned by Wang Zhiming, and written and directed by Shi Wei, Wang Pengfei, among others.
The National Two Sessions provided a platform for in-depth discussions on important national issues and served as a testament to China’s commitment to progress and development.
