Dear mayor, I am writing to you, the letters from Turin to Stefano Lo Russo

by admin

Dear Mayor,
the Nizza Millefonti district with the various construction sites that are being completed will soon become an even more central place than Turin. I am quite angry and saddened by the poor lighting near the Lingotto and all along Via Genova (including the surrounding streets). It is also necessary to be able to further regulate the minimarkets, with an early closure (for example 19:00) and also the refreshment areas such as the 24/7 machines because they are a source of degradation and wandering of alcoholics and drug dealers. My parents, who live in another neighborhood, have seen their area deteriorate day after day due to the opening of these premises, so a stance is needed since it is a question of objective urban decor and not political. It is also necessary to think about the future of the Molinette and the Palazzo del Lavoro.

With the new skyscraper the area will become strategic

Gentile Marco Arnaudo,
the Nizza Millefonti area is undergoing profound change, a district that has seen various developments throughout history through the growth of production plants which, from small shops, have become large industries that have characterized a good part of the twentieth century. Today the transformation is still taking place, different, no longer on the industry. And not only with the extension of the metro, but soon with the new headquarters of the Piedmont Region, the district will become a new strategic management center of Turin. There, new functions will be concentrated that will transform Nizza Millefonti once again. The “city of health” and the recovery of the Palazzo del Lavoro will also enter this continuous transformation: a wonderful structure that finally deserves a structural recovery and a worthy destination. Regarding public lighting, I will submit the matter to Iren for evaluation. Regarding the working hours of convenience stores, the legislation that regulates openings and closings is national (Legislative Decree 114 of 198, Legislative Decree 5 of 2010) and not local, therefore these commercial activities are required to comply with what is written in the Decree. The “Movida” discourse is different, a topic of strong interest of this Administration; for the areas most affected, a new ordinance was signed to combat neglect and the degradation of the territory, with the aim of guaranteeing the right entertainment and night-time commercial activities with the legitimate request for tranquility and rest of the residents. This ordinance provides for a ban on the sale of take-away alcoholic beverages from 9.00pm to 3.00am and on the sale and administration from 3.00am to 6.00am. A warm greeting.
