Although the El Niño phenomenon continues to ‘reign’ in Colombia, with high temperatures occurring in different areas of the country, in Risaralda the rains of recent days caused different emergencies, especially in the Industrial Municipality.
Given the emergency registered in the El Japon neighborhood of Dosquebradas, the Government of Risaralda supported the Mayor’s Office of this town with the delivery of humanitarian aid to the families affected by the floods in the aforementioned area.
“The department is present in the sector affected by the heavy rains. We must make it very clear that we are articulating between the Mayor’s Office and the Government with the purpose of complementing each other and serving the community in the best way,” explained Diana Carolina Ramírez Laverde, Departmental Coordinator of Disaster Risk Management.
The official also indicated that in total 40 markets and 30 shelter kits were delivered, according to the census carried out by the Municipal Disaster Risk Management Council.
Finally, it is necessary to remember that the Government of Risaralda will continue in permanent communication with the municipalities, with the objective of providing the technical or humanitarian support that is required according to the emergencies that may arise.
