The director of the Carolina Foundation, Érika Rodríguez, has visited Colombia this week with the purpose of strengthening the educational cooperation programs that this institution maintains in the Andean country.
Speaking to EFE in Bogotá, Rodríguez explained that the main objective of his visit was to delve deeper into the programs already active in Colombia, such as those for Visitors or the agreements established with the Government to promote the training of Colombian professionals in Spain. He highlighted the importance of providing them with the opportunity to enhance their skills and knowledge in various fields.
During his stay in the Colombian capital, Rodríguez met with officials from the Ministries of Education, Cultures and Foreign Affairs, as well as former Foundation scholarship holders, many of whom were trained in Spain. These meetings aimed to maintain a network of contacts and promote the social impact of the scholarship recipients in Colombia.
The director of the Carolina Foundation highlighted the country’s interest and capacity to develop programs and open cooperation opportunities. She stressed that the Foundation not only provides financial cooperation, but also offers technical training and program management.
Founded in 2000, the Carolina Foundation aims to promote cultural relations and educational and scientific cooperation between Spain and Ibero-American countries. Érika Rodríguez, who assumed the direction of the institution in February, expressed her commitment to deepening the advantages offered by the Foundation, expanding scholarship coverage and strengthening the Center for Latin American Studies.
Rodríguez highlighted the warm reception he has had in the Foundation and in Spanish institutions, highlighting the strong commitment and joint work with various entities in the European country.
