Montjovet. Father and 25-year-old son are accused of animal abuse and misrule

MONTJOVET. The prosecutor of Aosta asked the investigating judge to issue a criminal decree of 13,500 euros, each, for two people from Montjovet, a 25-year-old father and son, accused of animal abuse and bad governance. The two are accused of having kept their dog, a medium-sized shepherd mestizo almost three years of age, closed on a terrace for over two years. In recent days, the men of the Forestry Corps of the Aosta Valley together with the USL veterinarians have seized the dog, which is now in the regional kennel in judicial custody.

The prosecutor Manlio D’Ambrosi asked for the kidnapping, which was validated by the investigating judge. The half-breed dog was locked in a tight box and had sores caused by being unable to move. The dog was released by the forest police following a complaint presented in which the conditions in which the animal lived were reported, with signs of malnutrition and first bedsores due to the narrow space in which it had to live. Only the dog lived in the house as his owners do not live in that building. Hence, in fact, the request of the prosecutor for a fine of 13,500 euros each for father and son for crimes of bad governance and animal abuse.
