North Carolina – Moose, a dog who was supposed to travel on an Alaska Airlines flight from Raleigh-Durham International Airport, was reunited with his owner after a series of mishaps during the boarding process.
According to a spokesperson from Alaska Airlines, Moose was supposed to fly out on Tuesday night but did not make the trip due to an error in the loading process. The dog had to spend the night at the airport with the airline’s team.
The following day, when staff members attempted to board Moose on another flight to Seattle, the dog managed to escape while they were taking him for a walk. Moose dropped his collar and ran away before they could secure him in a cage.
The airport and airline team immediately began searching for Moose and even flew his owner back to North Carolina to help locate him. Fortunately, Moose was found safe and sound on Thursday morning.
“He is safe and healthy, and had a nice breakfast courtesy of one of our K9 officers,” said a spokesperson for Raleigh-Durham International Airport.
Alaska Airlines issued an apology for the ordeal, expressing their happiness at the dog and his owner being reunited. “We are glad the dog is safe and sound with his owner. We sincerely apologize to the owner for what was a stressful situation,” said an Alaska Airlines spokesperson.
Despite the initial setbacks, Moose’s adventure at the airport had a happy ending, with him back in the care of his relieved owner.
