Theft in the night between Monday 19 and Tuesday 20 at Cantine BorgoVeritas and in the home of the owner’s son in via Campagnole in Maron.
Yesterday morning the carabinieri of the Sacile command went to the place and reconstructed the incident with the owners, also with the help of the videos of private surveillance cameras. The videos were fundamental to reconstruct the theft, which took place around 1:30 yesterday. «Surely they were keeping an eye on us – comments the owner of Borgo Veritas, Leonardo Mascherin – at one in fact I was still awake with some friends. They waited for them to go away and for me to go home to strike. “
The thieves made a hole in a window and entered. The images of the video camera inside the cellar clearly show the actions of the thief once he has penetrated inside. “The time shown by the camera, 19 minutes after midnight, initially misled us – explains Mascherin – then we realized that the time of the camera had not been updated to daylight saving time, so the theft took place after moon. The thief entered and headed directly to the office where the cashier is. The images clearly show him as he grabs all the banknotes from the cash desk and then goes out ».

From the reconstruction we did with the carabinieri there were at least three: one acted in the cellar while another entered the house and a third waited in the car ». According to the first estimate, there were around one thousand euros in the cash register. Several bottles of wine were also taken from the cellar. In the house, his son Giovanni was asleep and did not notice anything. «He didn’t hear anything – confirms Leonardo Mascherin – while the thief rummaged everywhere, even in the refrigerator. They found 200 euros but did not even open the wallet even though it was placed on a piece of furniture. They took several things out of the refrigerator which we later found scattered around the garden. ”
