Within the framework of its commitment to contribute to the strengthening of its communities, Drummond Ltd., in consultation with the Municipal Mayor’s Office and the Community Action Board, delivered the construction of the Community House in the Los Cerrajones village, located in the La Aurora district , municipality of Chiriguaná, Cesar.
With the delivery of a community room, an administrative office, a sanitary battery, a patio with an enclosure, provision of furniture, technological resources and air conditioners, the company invested more than 200 million pesos in order to benefit all the inhabitants of the village. .
“We praise Drummond for this initiative that he is making to the social component of citizen participation, especially the community boards that did not have a space to operate, but today we see that our needs are being met. Our thanks to Drummond for giving us this Community House. We are proud to receive this scenario,” said Jainer Salazar De Armas, president of Asojuntas of the municipality of Chiriguaná.
The Community House is established for the community as a conducive space for holding meetings, coexistence gatherings, sociocultural activities, pedagogical workshops and different initiatives that seek to strengthen the social fabric and promote local development.
“This project was a reality thanks to the management of the Community Action Board of the Los Cerrajones village. After receiving the project and agreeing with the Mayor’s Office, we began the intervention. Today, the message we send to the community is to take ownership of this space, which does not belong to the administration, nor to Drummond, but rather a public good for the use of the entire population,” said Yilda Pineda, senior supervisor of relationships with the community.
