Tianjin Maritime Safety Administration Ensures Safe Water Transportation During Spring Festival
Tianjin Northern Network News: On the occasion of the Spring Festival, the Tianjin Maritime Safety Administration held a media briefing meeting to discuss the safety supervision and service guarantee of water transportation during the Spring Festival in 2024. The administration informed all sectors of society through the media about the study and judgment of the water transportation situation in Tianjin in 2024, as well as the safety supervision and service guarantee measures for water transportation during the Spring Festival.
The 2024 Spring Festival Transport will start on January 26 and end on March 5, lasting a total of 40 days. In preparation for this period, the Tianjin Maritime Safety Administration has defined 14 specific measures in four aspects to maintain the continued stability of the water traffic safety situation in the jurisdiction and create a safe and orderly water traffic environment for the Spring Festival.
One of the key focuses is to ensure travel safety during the festival. The administration is strengthening the analysis and judgment of water passenger flows and optimizing international cruise transportation organization services to reduce waiting times for cruise ships in port. Additionally, there will be a crackdown on illegal ships carrying passengers and strict prevention of safety risks for passenger ships, tourist ships, and ro-ro passenger ships.
In terms of ensuring the smooth transportation of key materials and people’s livelihood supplies, the administration has mapped out the water transportation situation of key materials such as energy, ore, and food, as well as people’s livelihood supplies. The “zero waiting time” initiative for ship navigation plans will be implemented, and there will be priority in passing through the lock, pilotage, and anchoring for ships transporting key materials and livelihood supplies.
During the Spring Festival, 9 cruise ships are expected to arrive at the Tianjin International Cruise Home Port, with more than 20,000 passengers; and the flow of ferries at the Haihe River waters is expected to reach more than 50,000 passengers. The Tianjin Maritime Safety Administration will continue to optimize and improve various work plans and emergency mechanisms to ensure safe, convenient, and warm travel for people and smooth and efficient transportation of key materials.
