Easter Monday is a public holiday and stock exchange holiday in Germany. However, different regulations apply in different countries around the world. Which stock exchanges are open today and which are closed?
There is no trading in stocks and bonds on stock market holidays. While there is no trading on the stock exchanges on Easter Monday in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) and the rest of Europe, most US stock exchanges (Nasdaq and New York Stock Exchange) are open.
However, most brokers cannot place orders for foreign trading venues on German stock market holidays. This also applies if there is no stock market holiday abroad on that day. It is generally advisable to take a look at your own broker’s trading calendar, as this can limit access in time.
