The Salgareda company processes plastics and has a growing turnover. Two owners and 27 employees, zero men
SALGAREDA. An all-pink company: the idea of two entrepreneurs, the 27 employees who all belong to the other half of the sky. Perhaps a unique case in the province, but not elsewhere should it be easy to find analogous microcosms.
“But we are not feminists. We only believe that women, in an area like ours, are faster and more precise ”, underlines the legal representative Cristina Andreatta. Who called the company “Epac”, founding it in 2001 with partner Elena Pivetta: based in Salgareda, they deal with the assembly of plastic materials. And outside the factory, in accordance with the company’s vocation, a pair of pink shoes size 80×30 were placed.
L’IDEA
“Elena and I started, breaking away from my brother’s company”, says Andreatta, 50, now living in Martellago but originally from Ponte di Piave as the partner, “the first office was in Fossalta Maggiore, after six months we we are moved to a larger warehouse in Salgareda. It was also thought of setting up a bar, but it would have been more expensive. In the beginning, the two of us did everything, even the deliveries.
We now have 27 employees: many have come and gone over the years, we have also counted 30 maternity wards. Minimum common denominator: having always believed in women ».
A FAMILY
Yes, always women. So much so as to create a particular atmosphere inside the factory: «We are a family. If there is a need to request a shift shift, maximum flexibility is guaranteed. Of the 27 employees, eight have fixed-term contracts. And we women do everything: from delivery by van to assembly, while the administrative part is done by me and the partner ». One wonders if, over the years, there has been some rare male implantation: «No, if we exclude the students used for internships. But we don’t want to look feminist, that’s not our intent. More simply, it is a choice. And it was only taken because, working with women, we find ourselves better off. Practical reasons, nothing more. They assure us of quality ». Clear, right?
THE WORK
As for the assemblies, the company deals with knobs for the hob, clocks for water meters, bicycle helmets, taps for coffee machines, plates for power sockets. In terms of turnover, the company recorded a 30% increase between 2019 and 2020: «We did not feel the crisis of the Covid era, opening two new warehouses last year.
Now there are three of them, for a total area of 1,500 square meters ”, concludes the entrepreneur Andreatta. In summary: the progress of a small provincial company that has always followed a pink thread. All women, from top management to manufacturing, from administration to the assembly department. With a pair of shoes outside the factory to personalize the entrepreneurial success of friends Andreatta and Pivetta.
