Twelve women who say they are victims of American investor and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein filed a civil lawsuit against the FBI on Wednesday. They believe that the security service failed to dismantle Epstein’s network.

“For more than two decades, the FBI allowed Jeffrey Epstein to engage in sex trafficking and sexually abuse countless children and young women while failing to fulfill the mission the American people rightly expected,” the complaint said. women. “Had the FBI fulfilled its obligation to investigate and intervene, Epstein would not have been able to commit the heinous acts,” prosecutors allege in a document filed Wednesday in federal court in Manhattan.

The 12 women, who want a civil lawsuit, denounce, among other things, the FBI’s “repeated and ongoing negligence and delays that allowed Epstein and others to continue their sex trafficking conspiracy for nearly 25 years.” The women even accuse the FBI of a “cover-up.”

Epstein was arrested in July 2019. The businessman with a network reaching the highest circles was suspected of sexually abusing numerous girls, including minors. He had already been convicted of abusing an underage girl. His relationships with prominent figures and his death led to many rumors and conspiracy theories. On August 10, 2019, he was found dead in his cell in New York at the age of 66.
