But a causal relationship between disease and changes in the microbiome has only been proven with Clostridioides difficile and the associated antibiotic therapy,” says Professor Dr. Andreas Stallmach, Director of the Clinic for Internal Medicine at Jena University Hospital, in a current press release from the German Society for Gastroenterology, Digestive and Metabolic Diseases (DGVS).
