*His condition is critical due to the severity of the injuries, mostly to the face and head.
The two-year-old boy “macheteted” by his step-grandmother was brought to the Tesãi Foundation Emergency Service, where he received first aid, with deep wounds apparently from a “machete.” No further information is known about the circumstances of the event.
His health situation is serious, he is intubated, receiving special care, undergoing tomography and imaging studies and subsequently transferred by ambulance from the Area 2 Hospital to the Child Therapy Service of the Los Angeles Maternal and Child Hospital.
The minor was helped by neighbors from the Carolina neighborhood, Km. 7 area of Ciudad del Este. “They disfigured my son, his face, his legs, his arms, I’m desperate,” Mirtha Elisabeth Medina, the minor’s mother, said amid tears.
The child’s father is also badly injured and is admitted to the Ciudad del Este Trauma Hospital.
