A famous DJ, who was indicted on charges of hitting and killing a motorcycle delivery man while driving drunk in the middle of Gangnam, Seoul, once again claimed the victim’s negligence.

On the 10th, Judge Kim Ji-young of Criminal Division 25 of the Seoul Central District Court conducted the second trial of Mr. Ahn (24), who was arrested and indicted on charges of violating the Act on Aggravated Punishment for Specific Crimes (Death by Dangerous Driving).

On this day, Mr. Ahn’s lawyer said, “When a two-wheeled vehicle changes lanes, the left turn signal must be turned on, but it entered the first lane without turning on the turn signal. If the victim had turned on the turn signal, the defendant would have taken measures such as moving to the second lane or reducing speed. “I could have taken it,” he claimed.

Mr. Ahn’s side acknowledged the charges, but requested, “Please take into account in sentencing the fact that the two-wheeled vehicle did not comply with road traffic laws and the accident occurred.”

Previously, Mr. Ahn’s side caused controversy at the first trial by claiming, “If the delivery man had followed the road traffic laws, the accident would not have occurred.”

Meanwhile, in the early morning of February, Mr. Ahn crashed into a motorcycle while driving his Mercedes-Benz while drunk in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The 50-year-old delivery man who was driving the motorcycle in this accident was taken to the hospital, but eventually died.

At the time, Ahn became controversial when he was pictured hugging a dog instead of providing relief to the victim. Regarding this, Mr. Ahn explained, “At the time, right after the accident occurred, I did not see the victim and did not realize that I had hit someone. The dog was barking so much that the scene was noisy, so I was told to hold it, so I held the dog.”
