(ANSA) – ATHENS, FEBRUARY 18 – A fire broke out on a Grimaldi Lines ferry with 237 passengers and 51 crew members on board while traveling in the Ionian Sea between the Greek port of Igoumenitsa and Brindisi.
No casualties have been reported so far, but “the captain of Euroferry Olympia has asked passengers to leave the ship,” according to the Greek port police. The incident takes place off the northern coast of the Greek island of Corfu, between Greece and Albania. The causes of the fire are not yet known. The Crisis Unit of the Italian company met.
