The man notifies the carabinieri only after the transport has been completed and has been reported. His lawyer opposes the criminal conviction and asks that he be acquitted due to the particular tenuousness of the fact

He was moving. So Davide Pessera, 44, transported about ten guns, 3 rifle barrels and over 200 ammunition, which he had at home, being a collector, from Salerano to Colleretto Giacosa. Too bad, however, that he reversed the order of factors, communicating everything to the carabinieri of the Castellamonte station only after the transfer took place, on 22 May 2019.
And in this case the result changes: he was denounced and received a criminal conviction. If he had told the military before carrying out the operation, nothing would have happened.
However, he opposed the decree through his lawyer Celere Spaziante. That last Friday, in court in Ivrea, he asked for acquittal for the “particular tenuousness of the fact”, claiming that his client had made a mistake. “We must also consider – Spaziante said in the classroom – that the weapons have been moved about 7-8 kilometers and that Colleretto Giacosa and Salerano are two very small towns”. The prosecutor’s request for sentencing was also mild: a fine of 200 euros. Judge Antonio Borretta will decide, who also listened to the testimony of the brigadier of the carabinieri on duty that day and collected the statements from the accused on 22 October.
What is most surprising is the list of weapons held (and all regularly reported) by the accused. In the Pessera household he had six shotguns of various kinds: a single barrel, a side-by-side shotgun, a semi-automatic, two with overlapping barrels and a pump-action one. Then two revolvers and a semi-automatic pistol.
He also had three spare barrels for his rifles and more than 200 cartridges of various calibers and another 200 shells. His firearms license had expired for a year and a half, on 10 April 2018, at the time of transport. But it would have been enough to notify the carabinieri first. a.s.
