“Despite the good will put in place by the center-right, there are no conditions, at the moment, to approve the fiscal delegation: whoever seeks forcing without a majority agreement will take responsibility for embarrassing the government.” This was declared by the deputies of the Lega Massimo Bitonci and Alberto Gusmeroli, respectively group leader in the budget committee and vice-president of the Finance committee in the Chamber.
While the Movimento 5 Stelle – in a note by Vita Martinciglio and Giovanni Currò – respectively head of the group and vice-president of M5s in the Finance Committee – declared: «The fiscal delegation is too important a reform to be used for electoral purposes. The increasingly concrete impression is that Lega and Forza Italia want to deny the commitments undertaken in the internal confrontation with the majority, so as not to compromise the fairytale narrative with which they will present themselves to the voters ».
