Fitp: assembly approves proposed changes to the statute – Tennis

The extraordinary assembly of Fitp, held in Rome, approved the proposals to amend the federal statute. Two votes were held, among these the one concerning the modification of the art. 55, or on eligibility and candidacy for the federal presidency after the approval of the new guiding principles in the Coni National Council. Amendment proposal approved with 98.73% of votes in favor (the assembly was validly constituted with 43.39% of those entitled to vote, corresponding to a number of votes of 48.12%, ed.).

“On article 55 we have slavishly copied what was indicated by Coni with the new guiding principles. These are changes that broaden and facilitate applications”, underlined the federal president, Angelo Binaghi, responding to those who spoke of new anti-competition rules. “What we saw today is the manifestation of democratic consensus, where if someone has something to say or a complaint to make, they can raise their doubts, debate and then vote”, concluded No. 1 Fitp.

Among the other amendment proposals approved with 99.64% of votes in favor in the first vote of the extraordinary assembly were also those to accept the proposals of the Minister for Sport and Youth, Andrea Abodi, on gender equality for national federal vice-presidents and generational turnover, this last point will be applied starting from the regional committees. All the proposed amendments to the Federal Statute approved today will now have to go through a final ratification by CONI.
