The second Flemish beer pong championship will be held next Thursday in Kessel-Lo, near Leuven. Teams of two try to throw their ping pong ball into as many beer-filled cups of the opposing team as possible.
It is a typical student activity: two teams of two people place ten cups filled with beer in the shape of a triangle on a long, narrow table. The teams can take turns trying to throw a ping pong ball into the cups. If one of your cups is knocked, you must drink the beer. The first person to throw into all the opponents’ cups wins.
Forty teams are preparing for the Flemish championship, which will be organized for the second time next Thursday in the De ZoeNK youth center in Kessel-Lo. “The event was sold out within the day,” says organizer Klaas Renette. “It will be a high level again. Many participants have already been practicing and training vigorously.”
The winners of the championship will go directly to the Belgian Beer Pong Championship, which will take place on September 7 in Lichtervelde, West Flanders.
