Fonzaso, falls into the drainage channel of the stable, elderly aid

Misadventure for a 78 year old who remained immobilized for several hours until a neighbor found him, giving the alarm

FONZASO. An accidental fall, perhaps a faint, caused an accident in the early afternoon of Thursday 14 April in ADL, a fonzasino born in 1944, which ended up inside the sewage drainage channel of his stable in via Maso. The old man was looking after his four head of cattle when something must have gone wrong: maybe he slipped or maybe he was hit by a slight illness. It is also not excluded that one of his cows caused him to lose his balance. The result is that ADL ended up in the canal where he stayed for several hours, perhaps even from the previous evening. To find the 78-year-old was a neighbor, sent to the place by the brother of the elderly, also a resident of Fonzaso, who had not heard from Wednesday evening.

When the woman went to the neighbor’s house she called him in vain but then looked out at the entrance to the stable: here she could see the old man who ended up in the canal, fortunately conscious, but unable to get up by himself. Immediate call to 118, with the health workers who immediately asked for the help of the firefighters of the Feltre detachment. The medical and paramedical staff, aided by the firefighters who wore special protections, rescued the man from the canal and stabilized him on the spot.

After verifying the conditions of ADL, fortunately not serious, he loaded him into the ambulance (in the photo) to be taken to the emergency room of the Feltre hospital for all the necessary treatments. In the meantime, a person has been warned who already habitually lends a hand to the elderly in the activity in the barn to take care of looking after the four cows until the owner is discharged and can return home.
