THE SPACE IN THE FRACTION OF FERRARA WILL BE DEDICATED TO EDUCATION AND EARLY CHILDHOOD CARE AND WILL BE ENERGY SUSTAINABLE

Ferrara, 18 April – The first stone of the future will be laid Quartesana nursery, tomorrow April 19th. This is a new space in the hamlet of Ferrara, which will be dedicated to early childhood education and care, worth 2 million euros (of which 1,584,000 euros obtained from PNRR funds and 426,000 euros from municipal financing).

The start of work is expected tomorrow morning, seeFriday 19 April 2024 at 9.30 in via Tono Zancanaro. The Mayor of Ferrara, the Councilors for Public Education and Public Works will be present, together with the technicians, the designers of Città della cultura / Cultura della città and the executing company Costruzioni Lago Srl of the Itaco Consortium of Loria (Treviso). The parish priest Don Vittorio was also present for the blessing.

The press is invited to participate.

Designed to accommodate children aged 0-3 years (in three sections from very small to medium-large), the new building will be characterized by an architectural design attentive to the surrounding environment, which aims to guarantee integration between the internal spaces and outdoors for a smooth transition between outdoor play and educational activities. A sort of common agora is planned which can be walked along the entire length of the three sections of children, dividing the service spaces for the operators (kitchen, logistics rooms, changing rooms, toilets) to the south, from the children’s classrooms to the north.

The four modular sections, with double-pitched roofs, arranged on a single floor, are designed to promote socialization and creativity: the large windows of the children’s classrooms allow a panoramic view of the surrounding countryside. There is also no shortage of work and interaction spaces with parents, with a multipurpose room.

With a view to protecting the environment and energy sustainability, the new building will be equipped with photovoltaic panels on the roof of the structure, in addition to all the necessary plant elements with zero environmental impact (electrical, water, waste, heating and cooling ).
