From warning of danger to choosing a partner: Always follow your nose

Always follow your nose, being able to smell someone well, having the right nose for something: folk wisdom rightly gives our nose an important place in our lives. It warns us of danger (spoiled food, smoke), plays a key role in our choice of partner and, last but not least, is closely linked to emotions and memories (an enticing smell of coffee and freshly baked pastries, the smell of Christmas, grandma’s delicious pastries,…). Also, our sense of smell
