Shortly after 11 p.m., the 19-year-old boy from the Ried im Innkreis district caused a traffic accident with property damage near Erlachweg. Witnesses stated that he and his three passengers – all between 19 and 21 years old and also from Ried – then fled on foot from the scene of the accident in the direction of Laaber Holzweg.

The police immediately launched a search. The four young men were found and checked after a short time. As it turned out, the 19-year-old had fled from a police checkpoint shortly before the accident. The car’s license plates were also reported stolen.
The young man admitted that he didn’t have a driver’s license at all; he had been given the license plates months ago. An alcohol test was positive.
