Valuable Donation Enhances Healthcare at Franchini Hospital
In a generous gesture aimed at improving the quality of care and life for patients, the Valle del Rubicone Rotary Club and the “Paolo Onofri” Association have donated an “Easyeyes” eye pointer to the Internal Medicine and Long Term Care department of the Franchini hospital in Santarcangelo.
The delivery and thanksgiving ceremony took place on Friday, February 9th, at the Clementine hospital.
The medical director of the Santarcangelo hospital, Dr. Catia Drudi, expressed her gratitude for the donation and highlighted the importance of the continuous support the hospital receives from various individuals and associations. She explained that the “Easyeyes” tool will allow hospitalized patients with serious degenerative neuromuscular pathologies to communicate with medical staff and their families through movement that is interpreted by the computer, thereby improving their care and quality of life.
Dr. Luca Morolli, director of Internal Medicine and Long Term Care at Franchini, further explained the use of the equipment, stating that the device will allow patients to communicate with their eyes, enabling them to avoid a state of psychological frustration resulting from the inability to communicate with others.
Representatives from Ausl Romagna also expressed their appreciation for the donation, underscoring the positive impact it will have on patient care and humanization of assistance.
The fundraiser for this project, with the slogan “Eyes are enough to fly,” was supported by the Valle del Rubicone Rotary Club and the Paolo Onofri Association. The president of the Valle del Rubicone Rotary Club, Monica Morri, highlighted the importance of the collaboration and the positive impact the “Easyeyes” tool will have on the community.
The Governor of District 2072 of the Rotary Club, Fiorella Sgallari, commended the club for its commitment to realizing the objectives of a Rotary service and expressed confidence that this would be the first of many donations to the hospital.
Giorgio Ioli, president of the ‘Paolo Onofri’ Association, and Santarcangelo’s mayor, Alice Parma, also expressed their gratitude and emphasized the culture of solidarity and community support that has been fostered through this donation.
The donation of the “Easyeyes” eye pointer represents a significant step in enhancing the healthcare and assistance activities at the Franchini hospital, providing hope for a brighter future for patients with degenerative neuromuscular pathologies.
